Take public transport from Liszt Ferenc Airport to the centre of Budapest

From Wednesday, 1 August 2012, BKK  provides a higher frequency bus service on line 200E between the Terminal 2 of Liszt Ferenc International Airport and Kőbánya-Kispest metro station. From Kőbánya-Kispest travellers can take M3 metro line to reach the centre of Budapest and other metro lines. From the airport the 200E buses run every 8 minutes in peak times, and every 10 minutes in off-peak times. From August 1, 2012, a capacity increase of 17% on workdays and 25% on weekends as well as a higher number of trips are added to the airport bus service. Following the closure of Terminal 1 of  Liszt Ferenc International Airport, all flights arrive at and depart from Terminal 2, which has caused increased passenger traffic at Terminal 2 and on bus line 200E providing direct connection to the airport terminal.  BKK intends to provide a more frequent and reliable connection between the city centre and the airport by improving the service of bus line 200E running between the terminus of metro line M3 at Kőbánya-Kispest and Liszt Ferenc Airport. Based on the decision of  BKK, according to the new timetable valid from 1 August 2012, bus line 200E between Kőbánya-Kispest M and Liszt Ferenc International Airport Terminal 2, runs as follows from  Wednesday, 1 August  2012:
  • On workdays, from Kőbánya-Kispest between 5:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. and from the airport between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m with a frequency of maximum  10 minutes. Times of operation are unchanged. In combination  with night bus 900, 24-hour service to the airport is provided outside the times indicated above. In morning and afternoon peak times, buses run every 8 minutes.
  • On weekends, buses run with a frequency of 10 minutes from Kőbánya-Kispest between 7:15 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. and from the airport between 7:45 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Times of operation are unchanged. In combination  with night bus 900,  24-hour service to the airport is provided outside the indicated times.
Please find the detailed schedule at this link. Metro line M3 and bus line 200E combined provide a 45-minute reliable connection to the airport from the city centre.  Take advantage of BKK’s efficient public transport services to reach the airport and use a 24-hour ticket for only 1,550 HUF or a transfer ticket for only 490 HUF.
