Due to delegation visit, there will be changes in public transport services on 2 February 2017

On 2 February 2017 (Thursday), a foreign body of delegates arrives in the Hungarian capital. To ensure safe transport for the delegation, traffic restrictions will be ordered by the Budapest Police Headquarters on several main routes in Budapest. There will be restricted access to roads around Lisz Ferenc International Airport for a short period of time, therefore BKK recommends that passengers whose flights depart between 11:30 and 13:00 and 17:00 and 19:30 leave their home for the airport much sooner than usual. Kossuth Lajos tér and its vicinity will be closed from early morning and metro line M1 will be replaced by buses during the daytime. During the arrival of the delegation in the early afternoon and departure in the early evening, among others, the entry section of the M3 motorway and the route section of Kós Károly sétány- Andrássy út–Bajcsy Zsilinszky út–Alkotmány utca–Kossuth Lajos tér will be restricted and the services of several public transport lines will be modified.

To ensure safe transport for the delegation arriving in Budapest on 2 February (Thursday), the following routes will be closed:

Road closures due to the safe transport of the delegation affect also public transport services, as follows:

 

Bigger restrictions will be expected in the cases of public transport lines affecting the route of the delegation in longitudinal direction, as follows:

 

Metro line M1

Metro line 1 will be replaced by buses for an expected period between 10:00 and 20:00 between Mexikói út M and Deák Ferenc tér M. During the transport of the delegation affecting Andrássy út – for the expected periods between 12:00 and 13:00 and after 17:30 – the transport of replacement buses will be suspended for a short period of time due to the closure of the route.

The replacement bus going from Mexikói út M to Deák Ferenc tér M will be running on the route section Horvát Boldizsár utca–Mexikói út–Szőnyi út–M3 entry road section–Állatkerti körút–Hősök tere–Andrássy út–Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út–Deák Ferenc tér–Károly körút, serving the following stops:

The replacement bus going from Deák Ferenc tér M to Mexikói út M will be running on the route section Károly körút–Deák Ferenc tér–Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út–Andrássy út–Dózsa György út–Gundel Károly út–Állatkerti körút–Kacsóh Pongrác út–Horvát Boldizsár utca, serving the following stops:

Vörösmarty tér from the Deák Ferenc tér terminus of the replacement bus will be accessible on foot within a few minutes.

For the expected periods between 12:00 and 13:00 and 17:30 and 19:00, the transport of replacement buses will be suspended for circa 40 minutes, due to the closure of Andrássy út.

 

Replacement bus M2A

The replacement bus M2A will be out of service for an expected period between early morning and 19:00.

 

Tram line 2

Tram line 2 will be running on a shortened route between Közvágóhíd H and Széchenyi István tér for an expected period between early morning and 20:00.

 

Bus line 9

The service of bus line 9 will be split in two sections for an expected period of 20-30 minutes during the arrival and departure of the delegation, between 12:00 and 13:00 and 18:00 and 19:00, as follows:

 

Bus lines 15 and 115

For an expected period between early morning to 19:00, bus lines 15 and 115 will be running on a modified route, due to the closure of Kossuth Lajos tér, as follows:

For the expected periods between 12:00 and 13:00 and 17:30 and 18:30, the service of bus lines 15 and 115 will be split in two sections, due to the closure of Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út, as follows:

 

Bus line 16

From 1 February 12:00 to 2 February circa 20:00, bus line 16 will be running on a modified route from Széll Kálmán tér and will go to Arany János metro station instead of Deák Ferenc tér.

On 2 February, during the arrival and departure of the delegation, between circa 12:00 and 13:00 and between 17:30 and 19:00, bus line 16 will be running on a shortened route from Széll Kálmán tér to Széchenyi István tér.

 

Trolleybus lines 70 and 78

From early morning to circa 19:00, trolleybus line 70 from Erzsébet királyné útja, aluljáró and trolleybus line 78 from Keleti pályaudvar M terminus will be running on a modified route to Arany János utca M – to the terminus of trolleybus lines 72 and 73.

During the arrival and departure of the delegation between circa 12:00 and 13:00 and 18:00 and 18:30, trolleybus lines 70 and 78 will be running on a shortened route from Erzsébet királyné útja, aluljáró and Keleti pályaudvar M terminuses to Akácfa utca, due to the closure of Andrássy út.

 

Trolleybus line 72

During the arrival and departure of the delegation between circa 12:00 and 13:00 and 18:00 and 19:00 for an expected period of 20-30 minutes, trolleybus line 72 will be running on a shortened route between Nyugati pályaudvar M and Dózsa György út.

 

Trolleybus line 74

During the arrival and departure of the delegation between circa 12:00 and 13:00 and between 17:30 and 19:00, the service of trolleybus 74 will be split in two route sections, as follows:

 

Trolleybus lines 75 and 79

During the arrival and departure of the delegation between circa 12:00 and 13:00 and 18:00 and 19:00, trolleybus lines 75 and 79 marked with “75” will be running between Jászai Mari tér and Dózsa György út/Szabolcs utca for circa 20-30 minutes. The boarding point of the trolleybuses in Szabolcs utca is at the taxi rank.

 

Bus line 105

During the arrival and departure of the delegation between circa 12:00 and 13:00 and 17:30 and 19:00, bus line 105 will be running on a modified route for circa 40 minutes via Margit híd, instead of the Chain Bridge.

Bus line 105 running from Apor Vilmos tér to Gyöngyösi utca M will be running on a modified route between Clark Ádám tér and Dózsa György út on the route section Fő utca–Jégverem utca–Bem rakpart–Gyóni Géza tér–Liptay utca–Margit híd–Szent István körút–Nyugati tér–Teréz körút–Podmaniczky utca–Munkácsy Mihály utca–Szondi utca and will not serve its stops between Széchenyi István tér and Hősök tere M. The boarding points of bus line 105 on the diverted route are, as follows:

Bus line 105 from Gyöngyösi utca M to Apor Vilmos tér will be running on a modified route between Dózsa György út and Clark Ádám tér on the route section Szondi utca–Bajza utca–Podmaniczky utca–Teréz körút–Nyugati tér–Szent István körút–Margit híd–Germanus Gyula park–Árpád fejedelem útja–Bem rakpart–Bem tér–Fő utca and will not serve its stops between Hősök tere M and Széchenyi István tér. The boarding points of bus line 105 on the diverted route are, as follows:

Apart from the above-indicated period, bus line 105 to Apor Vilmos tér will not serve Erzsébet tér and will be running from Andrássy út directly to József Attila utca from 1 February 12:00 to 2 February circa 20:00 and the boarding point of the bus line will be in József Attila utca, instead of Deák Ferenc tér M.

 

Bus line 200E

During the arrival and departure of the delegation between circa 11:40 and 12:20 and 18:00 and 18:30 for an expected period of 10-30 minutes, bus line 200E to Liszt Ferenc International Airport will be running on a modified route, not serving the airport, to the Vecsés, Market Centrál Ferihegy stop of the regional bus and will not serve either the Vecsés-nyugat, Repülőtér, P+R and the Liszt Ferenc 2 stops. BKK recommends that passengers whose flights depart between 11:30 and 13:00 and 17:00 and 19:30 leave their home for the airport much sooner than usual.

 

Bus lines 916 and 990

From late night on 1 February to the early morning on 2 February (Wednesday/Thursday), bus lines 916 and 990 to their Southern terminuses will not serve the Deák Ferenc tér M stop on Erzsébet tér.
